Commonly known as the bridge cranes the overhead cranes consist of parallel runways with a traveling bridge than moves in the gap. These cranes are different from mobile or construction cranes and often used in manufacturing and maintenance applications.
These cranes are very useful in the environment where efficiency and downtime are critical factors. As the name suggests, the EOT crane or Electric Overhead Traveling cranes are electrically operated by using control pendant, operator cabin or radio/infrared remote pendant. EOT cranes are mostly found in factories. Type of EOT cranes Single Girder EOT crane: These cranes are mostly suitable for the capacity ranging 1 Ton to 20 Tons. These are cost effective solution for the best utilization of the space. In the case of the low dead weight, these cranes are highly stable. Generally, these cranes have the span of 5 to 35 meters. Double Girder EOT crane: These cranes can be used for higher capacities, larger span and heights of lift. They provide maximum stability because of the double girder box design. These cranes are ideally operated from cabins. The capacity of these cranes can vary from 1 Ton to 150 Tons and the span may vary from 5 meters To 40 meters. Underslung EOT Crane: These cranes are best suited in the environment where overhead space for the installation of the crane is not available. These cranes have the capacity range between 250 kg to 10 MT. The hoist of crane offers more height and less dead weight. Gantry Crane & Goliath Crane: These cranes are self-supported cranes which are installed on the ground level. These cranes are the best possible solution for outdoor EOT requirement. The cranes are used in construction sites, shipbuilding sites, scrap yards, shipping yard etc. These cranes are also very easy to relocate from one place to another. Jib Crane: When it comes to loading and unloading of jobs on machine centers and assembly stations, there is no better crane than the Jib crane. These cranes generally have the capacity up to 6 tons. There are two ways to install this crane. It can fit on a part of wall where it can provide 180-degree boom rotation or it can be installed on a self-supported pillar via which it can give 360-degree boom rotation. The EOT cranes India are used in many different locations. As the industry in India is still booming, these cranes come in handy in a lot of places. India has its own shipyards as well where such cranes are very useful.
